Masz Lita

I am an experienced Art Specialist with the Ministry of Education (Singapore), a wife, a mum and an artist. I was educated in Tanjong Katong Secondary School by an inspirational Art educator, Mrs Valerie Tan. I went on to Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, where I obtained my Diploma in Art Teaching and i was also offered to do the Bachelor programme, and National Institute of Education, where I obtained my Diploma in Art Education with credits. I also have a Degree in Art Education with Psychology from Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).

I was a preschool educator, between 2000 and 2003, specialising in art modules, with an established and reputable company in Singapore. I have been an Art Specialist since 2008. I have passionately taught at secondary level for more than 8 years and I am currently teaching at a primary level. I have extensive experience in Art coursework management for both GCE 'O' and GCE 'N' national level examinations. This also includes carrying out the duties of a 'Subject Supervisor' and/or external invigilator for the Visual Art papers, in accordance to Singapore Examination and Assessment Board (SEAB) guidelines and standard.

Through my time spent managing the Visual Art national level examinations in secondary school, I have amounted comprehensive knowledge in manpower, resources and time management. I am trained and certified by National Institute of Education to support the learning of students with special needs, as well as the crafting of assessments, programme development and programme evaluation for students with special needs in the Ministry of Education (MOE) primary and secondary schools.

At primary school level, I am trained for the MOE revised Art syllabus (September 2017). I liaised with Art & Music Instructor Scheme (AMIS) instructors and other external vendors to ensure the smooth running of a list of Art modules for various levels. I work with a team of dedicated Art educators to provide plenty of collaboration opportunities for our primary school students with the established Singapore Art Museum (and a few other primary schools) on thematic explorative topics like Family, Home, Community, Identity and the Environment. I was also heavily involved in the pedagogical and assessment planning for the art modules (SOW) and the in-house art journals for six levels in my previous school.
